Scientific Talks, Session VII | Tuesday, September 13 | 17:00 – 17:30
Once considered a solution in search of a problem, ultrafast fibre lasers have become an essential tool for creating the next generation of innovative technologies for telecommunications, medicine, sensing, industry, and other areas of vital importance. In my talk, I will review novel fundamental and technological concepts in ultrafast fibre laser development, including passive mode-locking mechanisms, novel generation regimes, expansion of operational wavelength ranges, and summarise the novel applications opened by novel cavity designers.
